Welcome to another edition of our monthly newsletter. In this newsletter we have:
Swedish Shipment on it's wayOur shipment from Sweden is leaving this week and will be here in approximately 10weeks time. Glögg essence, Swedish Thin bread, Perstop Vinegar and much more... Unfortunately our Norwegian and Danish supplier adviced us they will not be ready until late August, due to summer holidays, so we will have another shipment leaving Scandinavia late August as well. Lefse, Toro soups and much more will be coming then. Matariki - SmörgåsbordMatariki is here and what better reason to celebrate. Invite your family and friends for a typical Scandinavian Midwinter Celebration. Show them the TRUE meaning of a smörgåsbord: Crispbread, herring, meatballs, cold cuts, remoulade, gravlax - yum... Cloudberry shortageWe're sad to inform you there is a Cloudberry shortage in Scandinavia and none of our suppliers are able to provide any cloudberry jam until after this years 'harvest'. This means we might not be able to get any before Christmas, but you never know. These berries are picked in August and if we are lucky we will be able to get some of the first batches of jam in our August order. Product on Short Date Sale
For more Short Date Sale product please see our Bargain Bin. This Month's Featured ProductSlotts Senap - Slotts Mustard. Romans were probably the first to experiment with the preparation of mustard as a condiment. They mixed unfermented grape juice, known as "must", with ground mustard seeds (called sinapis) to make "burning must", mustum ardens — hence "must ard". Mustard is an important condiment in Sweden and it differs from English or French mustard. Slott's Mustard is the number one brand of mustard in Sweden. Try the original variety - smooth, with just a hint of grain, and mild, with a nutty finish. We also have a more grainy, zesty mustard from the provice of Scania - Not hot but deliciously spiced.
